Visegrad Arts Lab

The project Visegrad Arts Lab (VAL) starts from the analysis of the current situation in the field of non-commercial contemporary art activities in the V4 region. Recently, new cultural centres and civic initiatives have been established here, having the potential to realize long-term cultural exchange. Those centres, however, cooperate inefficiently, or they do not cooperate at all. When creating their program plans, they do not regard specific art productions from the particular countries, by reason of insufficient or non-existing exchange of information resources. It is important for these institutions to not perform as individual subjects, but to realize common activities. A4 therefore aims to develop cooperation with likewise focused cultural centres and institutions that are acting as important communication and production nodes in Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland during following 12 months.
